  1. Preheat Oven to 325 Degrees F (To Toast Nuts and Coconut)
  2. Lightly Toast Nuts and Coconut in the Oven, Just Until Coconut Is Fragrant and Lightly Golden, About 8-10 Minutes.
  3. Add Honey, Water, and Salt in a Pot. Turn Burner on Medium and Continue to Heat Until Bubbly and Darkened in Color, 7.5 Minutes Exactly (On a Gas Stove), or Use a Candy Thermometer Until the Honey Reaches 270 Degrees F.
  4. When Honey Has Reached 270 Degrees F Turn Off Heat, Add Vanilla (If Desired), and Mix.
  5. Add the Coconut, Nuts, and Any Other Ingredients You Would Like to Add, Mix Thoroughly. The Mixture Will Seem Dry.
  6. Spread Parchment Paper Into an 8 X 8 Inch Pan.
  7. Spread the Coconut and Nut Mixture Evenly Into the Pan. Let Cool for About 5-10 Minutes.
  8. Cover the Top With Parchment and Use the Bottom of a Cup or Your Hands to Firmly Compress the Mixture as Much as You Can.
  9. let Cool Uncovered for 45 Minutes (No Longer).
  10. Once It Has Cooled 45 Minutes, Flip Onto the Cutting Board in One Piece. With a Big Sharp Knife, Cut Into Bars Before They Cool Down Completely.
  11. after You Cut Them, Allow to Cool Completely on Parchment Paper (A Couple of Hours) Before Storing. Store in an Air Tight Container Layered With Parchment or Wrap Individually With Parchment and String.

  • If the Bars Are Too Soft, the Honey Wasn’t Heated Enough. If They Are Too Hard, the Temperature Was Too High. Use a Candy Thermometer for Exact Temperature.
